Fair Housing

The federal fair housing act prohibits discrimination in the renting and buying of homes (among other things) based on:

Race

Color

National Origin

Religion

Sex (including identity and orientation)

Familial Status

Disability

Whether these rules apply to you in your state, fair housing is a good practice and everyone should abide by the principles.

This link takes you to the government website with details on what types of activities are protected under this act.

It is wise to avoid any activity that could be construed as discriminatory behavior. This is one of the reasons the buyer’s photo doesn’t appear until after the showing request is accepted, to reduce any opportunity for bias.
